War is just around the corner!

So if you’re new to Warhammer 40,000, - or just new to 9th Edition- where should you begin?

We’re so glad you asked!

At Good Games, we are huge (some would even say, TITANIC) fans of Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 – and with 9th Edition, the game is more accessible, strategic, dynamic and exciting that it has ever been!

Today, a BUNCH of new Warhammer 40,000 products went up for preorder – why so many? Well, that’s because there is literally something for everyone!

But please, Know No Fear as we take you through the ins and outs of each of these exciting new products so you can find what is right for you and your collection!

Recruit 1Warhammer 40,000 – RECRUIT EDITION

The easiest entry point to the New 40K is with the Recruit Edition.

This handy little box set is enough for you and a friend (or roommate, or sibling, or your kids), to dive into the hobby with a selection of models including a special character in each army to use as your warlord.

The Recruit Edition includes the base rules for the game, as well as a dynamic playmat and some cardboard terrain allowing you to pitch a battlefield on any surface in the house!

The Recruit Edition is primed for Open Play – the style of Warhammer 40,000 where you and your opponent just want to put some models on the table and have an epic battle!

For those of you who bought INDOMITUS, you may like the Recruit Edition to pad out your Space Marine or Necron Force with an additional Troop Choice.

Elite 1Warhammer 40,000 – ELITE EDITION

For those who want to bite off a little more of their hobby than with the Recruit Edition, the Elite Edition includes everyone from its little brother and more!

The inclusion of a unit of mighty Skorpekh Destroyers for the Necrons, and equally cool Outrider Space Marines (yep, that’s Space Marines on motorbikes – what’s not to love?).

Additionally, the Elite Edition includes two new characters – a Necron Overlord and a Primaris Space Marine Captain!

With an expanded version of the rules, the Elite Edition is ideal for those of you who want to dip more than just your toe into the hobby, and will provide hours of fun as you try out new units and test your mettle against one another.

Given that the Elite Edition contains nearly two Start Collecting boxes worth of models, it’s more than ideal to expand an existing Necron or Space Marine force!

Command 1Warhammer 40,000 – COMMAND EDITION

Okay, folks, this is the big one.

The Command Edition is the quientessential way to get the full Warhammer 40,000 experience.

Not only does this edition contain the full rules for the game (compacted into a far more tactile and travel-friendly rulebook), but it also provides a list of 6 missions for your to play out and experience a whole bunch of tactical maps and objectives to try and outwit and outsmart your opponent!

The Command Edition includes the two armies from the Elite Edition – but an important difference is the full set of terrain, and double-sided fold-out board of the exact measurements of a 500pt game of Warhammer 40,000! Those of us who are keen to expand our terrain collection (as well as get our hands on more of these boards!) will likely be picking up one of these!

This product allows you to experience every aspect of the New 40k, and the abridged rules and terrain will make it a perfect addition to an existing Warhammer 40,000 collection.

So there you have it- a breakdown of each of the products, so you can go forth into battle with the version of 9th Edition that is right for you!
