Join us for our annual outdoor Pokémon VG tournament! The tournament will start at 11am, with team list submission from 10:30am to 11am. We will be playing in the southeast corner of Lincoln Park Zoo, just past the Regenstein Center for African Apes near the bus entrance – same spot as last year. See the map below if you need help! This tournament will be played on Pokémon Champions. Players may use any console from the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 family of systems.

Entry is FREE for players in all age divisions – as such, prizing will be minimal, but we’ll be sure to have at least some goodies :)

This tournament will follow the VG Single Day structure as detailed in the Tournament Rules Handbook, meaning multiple rounds of Swiss potentially followed by a single elimination top cut. All rounds, Swiss and Single Elimination, will be best of 3. The number of rounds will be based on number of players in the event. This tournament will follow the current regulation set.

NOTE: Tournaments may be cancelled if less than four players are registered as of 10pm the night prior. If this occurs, registrants will be refunded and notified via email.

What should I bring?

• Your Player ID number. If you don’t have a Player ID, you can create one at https://trainer.pokemon.com/play-pokemon .
• A filled out team list. A blank list can be found at https://judgeball.com/teamlist – there will be blank lists available at the tournament as well. If you have your list ready ahead of time, you can email it to goodgames@chicagopokemon.com; however, please email prior to 7am to ensure the list gets printed in time.
• A fully charged Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, or Nintendo Switch 2 system with a working USB-C port and the latest system updates installed. There are no outlets nearby, so portable power banks are highly recommended.
• Pokémon Champions downloaded on a Nintendo Switch system with the latest game updates installed, and an active account in good standing.
• Yourself! Make sure you arrive on time. If you are late, you may not be able to play in the event, so make sure to arrive in time to submit your list!
